How to Get to Hammerfest?

The LC National Meeting 2026 is approaching – and we expect you've already started looking at flight tickets (or at least thought about it 😉). Here's an overview of the easiest ways to get to Hammerfest!

✈️ By Plane: 

The easiest way to get to Hammerfest is by plane. There are daily flights from several cities in Norway to Tromsø, where the final leg—just a quick 40 minutes with Widerøe—takes you directly to Hammerfest. The airport is only 5 minutes by car from the city center and the hotel—super convenient!

Another option is to fly to Alta, which also has daily departures from many Norwegian cities. From there, you can take a bus or express boat onward to Hammerfest.

🚌 By Bus: 

Coming via Alta? There are daily bus departures from Alta to Hammerfest—a great chance to see some of the Finnmark plateau. The bus ride takes about 2 hours.

If there is enough interest, we are planning to arrange a dedicated National Meeting bus from Alta to Hammerfest, which will be scheduled after the last arrivals. (And who knows, maybe there will be a surprise waiting out on the plateau 🎁)

A great way to start the National Meeting weekend—with laughter, scenery, and good vibes along the way!

🚤  By Boat: 

There are also daily express boat departures from Alta to Hammerfest—a beautiful and peaceful route for those who want to see more of the northern Norwegian coast. The boat trip takes about 1.5 hours.
